A fair, balanced local content policy will guide the development of the hydrocarbon sector and ensure the natural resources of the country directly benefit the people of South Sudanese citizens. It is also critical for the continued development of the country’s economy that the oil and gas industry remains an attractive investment area for the international community.
Amid a period of relative peace and stability, oil production is rising, operators are looking to further engage with communities and local companies, and power development is a key priority. This year will see the launch of the country’s first licensing round which, coupled with an attractive business environment, constitutes a pillar of the government’s goal to attract foreign investment.
