Africa Oil & Power 2016 was the inaugural edition of an event that we see as a potential game-changer for energy conferences. We aim to create the most engaging content experience from the industry’s biggest power brokers. We do this through a carefully curated list of speakers, and through a panel format that facilitates open and dynamic dialogue.
In building Africa’s elite energy event, we draw on the experience of some of Africa’s foremost thinkers and dealmakers. As a result, we place a premium on networking. Delegates are put face to face with the decision-makers that matter most in an environment that is geared to the business of making deals.
The last several months have been challenging for a global oil and gas industry confronted by a sustained commodity price slump. Africa certainly faces its own difficulties in competing with other parts of the world for a more limited share of investment. Nevertheless, the prospects for African oil and gas have never been more promising, given the continent’s resource potential.
The purpose of Africa Oil & Power is to enable investment and shine a bright light on Africa, the world’s most overlooked oil and gas region. In this vein, we were honored to host the Government of Equatorial Guinea as it officially launched its 2016 oil and gas licensing round. In future years, we will utilize this platform to further the investment promotion objectives of more African governments and energy ministries.
