South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and financial services group Nedbank have been accepted as new members of the RES4Africa Foundation, a private sector and member-driven organization that promotes investment into and facilitation of renewable energy projects across Africa.
Made official by the RES4Africa Steering Committee, the membership of the CSIR and Nedbank strengthens the relationship among the three entities and further promotes renewable developments in South Africa by spurring positive and productive collaborations.
“The challenges that South Africa’s power sector is experiencing offer the opportunity to scale up the deployment of renewable energy, which has the potential to ensure a more reliable and sustainable electricity service, at a fairer price,” said Salvatore Bernabei, President, RES4Africa Foundation.
“With its partners in South Africa, RES4Africa is carrying out a dedicated program focused on the country’s energy transformation. We therefore gladly welcome CSIR and Nedbank as partners, a tangible result of the positive collaborations we’ve established over the past months.”
