ENI Starts Production at Agogo Field
Italian oil and gas firm Eni has begun production at the Agogo oil field in15/06 Block offshore Angola, just nine months after its initial discovery.
Current production is around 10,000 barrels per day (bpd), which is set to reach 20,000 bpd in the coming months. The field holds over 650 million barrels of oil in place, with a further potential that will be verified after the drilling of the new appraisal wells.
“The record time set for the field to become operational, nine months after its discovery last March, confirms Eni’s successful endorsement of the fast track model in the development of its discoveries, a strategy based on operational synergies with already existing infrastructure that maximizes projects value. The strategy is enabled by a phased field setup, which includes an early production stage and, after the completion of the appraisal campaign, the subsequent development of the full potential through a new development hub,” the company said in a statement.
Eni is the operator with a 37% stake. Its partners are Sonangol P&P (37%) and SSI Fifteen Limited (26%).
Returning for its second year, the Angola Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition will be hosted in June 16-17, 2020 in Luanda, and will focus on an international investment drive aimed at bringing new deals and signing new entrants into Angola’s oil and gas sector.
