The Dangote Group’s Nigeria-based oil refinery and petrochemical project is expected to play a significant role in transforming the nation’s oil and gas industry.
Leading a tour of the Dangote jetty, refinery and fertilizer plants in Lagos, President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Babatunde Rawuse said the project would contribute to economic development.
Further, he commended the CEO of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, for his investment in Africa.
“Dangote’s patriotism remains unparalleled when it comes to investment and his investments in many sectors have been a key factor behind Nigeria’s improving economy,” he said.
He added that Dangote was positively impacting the lives of Nigerians through the production of household products.
The project is anticipated to have great economic impacts with the refinery’s Head of Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Rama Rao Putta describing the project as the largest single train petroleum refinery in the world, with capacity to process 650,000 of crude oil per day.
According to Putta, the refinery will create 100,00 jobs, with the Dangote Oil Refinery Company having completed the training of the first two groups of Nigerian Engineers in India.
